MAJOR GRAY'S CHUTNEY

Okay, so I need a count of hands. How many of you have even heard of let alone eaten this stuff? I must be the only person in the good old U.S. that hasn't. Because after extensive research I've seen it touted as America's most favorite chutney. Lately I've seen the name popping up in recipes everywhere. I had no idea what it was. Then last week while looking for horseradish, I spotted this jar on the shelf! Of course you know I had to buy it! Not knowing exactly what it was I thought, "Could I use it for a sandwich spread?" So, I bought a large bread from the deli (it's Publix's Sports bread which is by far one of the best breads I've ever tried).
Look at all that good stuff inside.
I also bought a few slices of pancetta and provolone cheese.
I made this lovely sandwich using the Major Grey's chutney.

Publix's Deli Sports Bread, Pancetta, Provolone, Watercress, onion, tomatoes, mayo & MAJOR GREY'S Chutney! YUMMMM

Bake the pancetta & thick bread slices on 425 for 7-10 minutes or until the pancetta is crispy and well cooked.

Oh, Alex and I LOVE Publix's bread, so I'll have to give this a try sometime, including the chutney. Yum!

I have bought Major Gray's chutney for chicken salad recipes that called for it, but I've never used it on a sandwich. Yours looks really delicious.

I think Publix has the best bakery. I'll have to look for that Sports bread. My favorite is the English muffin bread - its great toasted.

Good looking sandwich! No, I've never seen or heard of Major Gray's chutney! I also haven't heard of the Sports bread at Publix, I must look for it, in the deli? Bread is my big downfall, love it, never have enough! I used to love Albertson's flax seed bread, but the store closed here and now I can't get it! Have you ever made a good bread with lots of nuts and seeds? I'm looking for a recipe.

Katherine, I've never made bread. As a matter of fact, I just bought bread yeast (forgot the bread flour) but I was planning on trying to make some. I saw a recipe for some rustic breads and thought I'd give it a try. WE'll see if I ever do. LOL!
