Plated Silver Great Finds

I was "window" shopping at a local Antiques shop in town this past week and ran across a "must have". I found a basket full of plated silverware for less than $5.00 for the entire basket full! There isn't a full place setting of anything really but there were 2 sets of Tea Spoons- Ice tea spoons that is. They were dirty & black, but I knew how beautiful they would be with a little elbow grease & I was right. All together there are 46 pieces. I don't know how each will be used, but I don't care about that right now. So do you think I got a great buy or what?

Clearly, I am falling down on the job of keeping up with all the great tea finds in Newnan. Five dollars FOR ALL OF THAT? Hmph. I'm not jealous. Not one little bit. Nosirree ...

Lovely. I've been tempted by real silver before, but I really haven't a clue how to clean it or care for it, so I've always passed it up.

Hi Melanie,
NEVER pass on silver at a good price! Plated or real. It is so easy to clean and care for. I use Weiman Royal Sterling Silver Polish liquid cleaner. It is non abrasive and cleans like a charm. To keep it clean- use it! Or keep it wrapped in soft cotton fabric that has not been dried with fabric softner. NEVER put it in the dishwasher. See- easy!
